Instructor at NMSU

This has been in the works for months, so here goes:

I’ve moved back to Las Cruces, NM to work at New Mexico State University as an instructor in the music department. They needed an interim since my former teacher moved back to Europe, and I was a natural fit since I was intimate with the details of working at NMSU and the workings of the opera program.

What am I teaching?

  • Applied Voice (voice lessons)
  • Opera and Music Drama (opera history)
  • Opera Workshop (acting for opera singers)

I’m also directing the Doña Ana Lyric Opera for the year, which is thrilling. We’re going to put up Die Fledermaus at the end of February.

So this is all very exciting for me, and it was honestly not what I was expecting to happen when I moved to Pennsylvania. I’m looking forward to all the challenges and delights of working with the students and fellow faculty.
