This vocalise is based off of a phrase in the aria “O wie ängstlich” from Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail. This is a variation on the traditional messa di voce that utilizes alternating vowels. This is an effective vocalise for vigorously attacking your high notes. This is a fun exercise that is common for both singers and choirs. This is a gentle way to help balance your registers. This is a common upward-scale vocalise found in daily exercise books such as those by Concone or Lamperti. This is a fun vocalise that is a variation on one I found in Berton Coffin’s Sounds of Singing. The difficulty lies in the quick movement of major seconds.
